Alexander Matos is an actor, multi-instrumentalist, and creator based in Los Angeles seeking Theatrical and Equity Reps, managed by Framework Entertainment and signed commercially with True Artists Agency (formerly KMR). He holds an M.F.A. in Acting from Brown University / Trinity Rep and a B.A. in Music with Honors from UC Berkeley, where he focused on Ethnomusicology and Composition, and Minored in Theater and Performance Studies.
Raised in LA from the age of six, Alexander has always had a lifelong investment in being an actor and artist, and believes art is a catalyst for cultural insight. Many of his most cherished moments and lasting cultural influences come from his early childhood in Brazil, overflowing with music, color, dance, and a deep immersion in the jungle and natural landscape. His early exposure to acting came from his father, who instilled in him a love for foreign cinema and for vibrant, authentic storytelling. Alexander identifies as a Third Culture Kid and is proud of his Brazilian, Puerto-Rican, and Italian mixed heritage (amongst many others), with dual citizenship in Brazil and the US (with a third Italian passport on the way).
As a burgeoning actor, Alexander's stage credits include work at such theaters as Pasadena Playhouse, Boston Court Pasadena, South Coast Repertory, A Noise Within, Trinity Repertory Company, Chautauqua Theater Company, NNPN/The Kennedy Center, Rhode Island Latino Arts, and Rites and Reason Theater, along with his work at Brown University/Trinity Rep and UC Berkeley. He recently appeared in a Toyota commercial and on the ABC show, American Housewife, and has featured in several student films. As a child, he did commercials and print ads in Los Angeles, and now looks forward to working on-camera again.
